April Updates

Oh dear...life has become sooo hectic. Don't know if it is because i am working full time now and doing a critical project or because the kids are growing up and are demanding more attention and are naughtier too or because B is out of town so often...Anyways, i'm still managing to update my food blog once a while to keep up with the events, but this blog is ignored big time :( This to me is more special than the other blog, but is being taken for granted. Just like how we are nice to people who are not so close to us, but show the rotten side to those who are close to us and mean more to us.

Now for the quick updates :

Ashu is doing great and got 'E' in all subjects and G in music and 'E' in PE. Wow that makes me sooo happy.
He is doing good with his Karate and i'm thinking of starting gymnastics for him..Maybe not now as he has to go for swimming this summer.

Aj - Now what do i say about this dude? I heard they are going to change the meaning of naughty to Aj :-) He's naughty to the core. He has helped Ashu earn a good name. But as much naughty as he is, he is brilliant and sweet. This little dude is so much like Ashu but with minor differences. Like B says, Aj is Ashu-v2 :-)

Aj has started ***reading*** the following words :
Names : mine, ashu's B's and his name.
Colours : Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Orange, White, Black, Pink,Brown
Shapes : Circle, Square
Animals : Cow, Dog, Cat
Others :INDIA :-), Front, Back, Sit, Stand, Shapes (he says sapes :D), Colors, Big, Small, Sit, Stand.

I can write these in any order and he says them right :)

He read these for Ms.Kathy and Ms.Jody at his daycare and they were amazed. Ms. Jody asked me the secret to raising early readers and she said i'm doing a great job with my kids. FYI, Ms. Jody was Ashu's teacher in the 3 yr old room where Ashu started reading. Ashu started reading level 1 books when he was 3 yrs and 10 months old and was the talk of daycare:) Am glad i got some credit for this...Some people just say they are brilliant and learn it by themselves..Basically, they don't want to agree that i work with them..LOL! :)

My inlaws are here now and are awestruck at aj's music knowledge. He remembers the lyrics of 100+ songs - which include rhymes -both tamil and english, tamil movie songs, carnatic songs and hindi movie songs. My mil asked me when and how i taught him and i told her i sing to him in the car when i take him to the school or sing to him in the night before he goes to sleep. He remembers the lyrics so well, even though he can't say most of the words :) Funniest is, we were listening to Bombay songs in the car when we were going to Atlanta to pickup my inlaws and he would've listened to kannalane for probably 3 times. After couple of times, i was singing this song to him and when i stopped with first para, he continued saying gummu gummu gubbuchoo (for gumsuma gumsuma guppucha..) and when i sang that he continued with salsalsal. It was very very funny.
