Feb Updates

I have been very laid back with this blog..i think i need to get back in swing!

Feb 12 - Aj started recognizing circle, square, triangle (Twiangle), oval, crescent (calls it banana) :-) I didn't teach him crescent thinking it is not required at this age, but he just points to it and says banana, everytime he sees it :) When he sees star, he sings twinkle twinkle little sshhtaar. So, that's one more.

Feb 13 - Both kids had Vday party. Homework for me. Had to write cards for all their classmates and pack treatsacks for the party. Atleast, ashu's teacher sent a note to send a bag of candies and they will pack. So, oru velai micham. For aj,i had to pack. I picked gerber juicy treats = a healthier choice and am proud of my choice. All other mommies had sent candies, except one. She sent pink rice crispies bar. So, one more health conscious mom out there :)

The teachers packed his treat collection in his bag and kept it ready, when i went to pick him. Ashu didn't bring his and he thinks he has it in the class. Hope he didn't lose it! (Me secretly thinks, it's good even if he had lost it..so much sugar is really not welcome here!) :-)

He has started doing his AR books now. When i bumped into his teacher last week at walmart, she complained that he doesn't read his AR books because she started with lower level for him so he can have a stronger foundation. She said he thinks those books are boring. I talked to him and made him understand it is important to read those books. He has started finishing them on time. Phew!

Today, aj was counting till 30! Well, actually till 20-10. Just like how his brother was, he says 20-10 after 29. It's in the blood, i guess! He is stacking the lego blocks very well too. When big brother builds towers, he breaks them in a jiffy though! Ashu gets very annoyed! :) His second birthday is around, and i can see the beginning of the terrible twos already. Li'l dude has started throwing tantrums now! Boo :(

balancing act..

ashu lost one more tooth on feb3 and AJ got one more on feb 5th :) his bottom right 3rd from center. dont know what it is called.

Now AJ recognizes circle, oval and square. He recognizes triangle sometimes. He knows red (wed), blue, orange, black (back) and yellow (yevvow)

They have started AR in ashu's class again. This year, the test doesn't give exact grade level, but teacher said the range he passed was the one between 3rd and 5th grade. Meaning, he can read upto 5th grade level.

Feb 3 ---------
Tutu was not well today, so i took him to the doctor and the nurse gave motrin to bring his fever down. After he took the medicine, he said good job. Nurse started laughing so much :) He's back to the pre-india trip weight finally and now this fever is gonna bring him down again. Awww Shucks :(
Poor tutu's fever continued to be high and he started blabbering a lot. He kept blabbering itsy bitsy spider and a says a, b says ba..:-( In the middle of the night, when i gave him medicine and went to clean the medicine cup, he screamed Good job - it was as if he was mad at me for forgetting to say good job :)
Guess what...Feb 4 and 5, they closed ashu's school and again and I thought he will complain that he's bored, instead he did a happy dance (ellam gene-laye irukku :)) I told him that i'm gonna tell Ms.West that he did a happy dance..Bayandhe
