For the extreme bad planning that i did, Diwali turned out to be really good :-) Lesson learnt : Dont plan..like unplanned trips, unplanned events turn out to be good too ;-)
Two weeks before Diwali i thought i will prepare kaju katli (Ashu's demand), thattai (ashu's demand again), Rava laddoo and a murukku recipe that my friend gave me long back and i did the whole planning and i was supposed to start my batchanam making on monday. Monday came - no signs of making batchanam...We still have 3 days to make batchanam..what's the problem. Tuesday came, B was sick and i had tons of things to take care of..no signs of batchanam again..Wednesday..couldn't manage to do anything and my BP started raising..so at 11 PM i started making kaju katli, since AJ decided to sleep late that day. I was so nervous and i goofed up by taking it off the stove a tad earlier. I couldn't knead it when it cooled down as it was too sticky. I was soooo frustrated that i didnt bother to fix it anymore and put everyhting in a box and put it in the fridge. The next day when i came from office i thought i will give it one try and ta..da it came out well. Then, i started making thattai and it was super good too. Thursday night things started looking better..but, friday i was working from home and it got a little bit hectic, but i managed cooking a decent meal by getting up early :)
(If only i could do that everyday!! :D) Friday evening we all went to the temple and after sevichufying pillu, we went down and got our dinner to go and then got some crackers and the kids had soooo much fun. As it was too crowded, we came home and had the dinner. The next day, we went to Swati's house for a potluck party and there the children burst crackers again and had tons of fun. We had a great time with great food too :-) Came home only after 2 in the night! :-O
